Tarbiyah I: Foundations of Character Development

Course Description:

Tarbiyah, the holistic development of the Muslim character, is the cornerstone of Islamic education. This course introduces students to the fundamental principles and practices of Tarbiyah, focusing on building a strong spiritual, moral,and intellectual foundation. Students will explore the Islamic worldview, the importance of character development, and practical strategies for personal growth.

Course Objectives:

  • Understand the Islamic concept of human nature and purpose.

  • Develop a strong foundation in Islamic beliefs and values.

  • Cultivate self-awareness and personal reflection.

  • Acquire practical tools for character development and spiritual growth.

  • Explore the role of Tarbiyah in building a strong Muslim community.

Topics Covered:

  • The Islamic worldview and its impact on character

  • The importance of character development in Islam

  • Islamic ethics and morality

  • Self-discipline and self-control

  • Patience, gratitude, and contentment

  • Developing a strong relationship with Allah (SWT)

  • The role of the Quran and Sunnah in character building

Through a combination of lectures, discussions, group activities, and personal reflection, students will learn how to raise their children with Islamic Values according to Quran/Sunnah.
